How are we doing?

There is no greater form of recognition a deputy or employee can receive than a compliment from those they have assisted. When you submit a letter of appreciation, the employee and thier chain of command, including Sheriff Gabe Morgan, are made aware of the outstanding performance. A copy of the letter is also placed in the employee's personnel file.

There are two ways you can acknowledge a deputy or an employee who protects our community's values.

1. Come into the Sheriff's Office and ask to speak to a supervisor; or

One of the goals of the Newport News Sheriff’s Office is to provide you with the highest level of professional law enforcement service. We take complaints from citizens very seriously and investigate all allegations of employee misconduct and alleged violations of policy, procedure or law.

The Newport News Sheriff's Office Internal Affairs section is responsible for  investigating complaints against our employees. Anonymous complaints are accepted and will be investigated to the best of our ability.
