Professional Standards Bureau


The Professional Standards Bureau is responsible for the professional conduct of employees in the Newport News Sheriff’s Office. The bureau maintains the Sheriff’s Office compliance with various state and national organizations to deliver the highest level of service to the citizens of Newport News.

Staff training, development, certifications, and employee misconduct are handled through the bureau as well.  The bureau also serves as a liason with our federal partners in task force operations with the DEA, ATF and U.S. Marshalls and the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy.
