The Newport News Sheriff’s Office is responsible for addressing the health care needs of incarcerated individuals within the Newport News City Jail and Jail Annex. By operating our own medical team, the Sheriff’s Office is able to provide timely and appropriate medical, mental health and dental care needs. The medical team consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medication Technicians, Licensed Mental Health Professionals, a Nurse Practitioner, a Health Services Administrator, a Medical Doctor, and Dentist.
