Community Programs

The Newport News Sheriff’s Office prides itself on community engagement, education, and collaboration. To that end, the men and women of the NNSO strive daily to foster positive community relations, maintain open avenues of communication, and work towards the common goal of reducing criminal activity.

Realizing the importance of building a community relationship, we offer a number of programs designed to encourage the involvement of residents, businesses, organizations, and faith-based institutions.

Our goal is to reduce gang violence and criminal activities and improve the quality of life for everyone who works and lives in the City of Newport News.
