Bureaus
When people think about the Sheriff’s Office, the City Jail likely comes to mind. However, there’s much more to the work being done by the men and women here.
The Sheriff’s Office includes three bureaus and a division that perform a variety of duties under the direction of a bureau chief or director. Each bureau chief and executive director ensures the duties of the Sheriff’s Office are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Operations Bureau (corrections, medical, property, etc.)
- Services Bureau (court security, transportation, civil process, etc.)
- Professional Standards Bureau (investigations, training, accreditation, etc.)
- Community Outreach (offender re-entry, inmate programs, public partnerships, etc.)
These bureau encompasses sections for functions such as corrections, bailiffs, civil enforcement, extraditions, investigations, evidence processing, inmate education and vocational skills, inmate reintegration and much more.
